Remarks

The rs2294008 is a human lineage specific T to C transition which affects the translation start of the protein. The derived allele C in some human populations changes an ATG codon to ACG which in turn disrupts the start codon (Met) into a Thr. The reference sequence has got the derived allele C and therefore it does not start on a Met. The first report on PSCA protein (PMID: 9465086)
